Something about this experience met me at exactly the right time and shifted me in ways I didn’t see coming ✨ Working with Jonny Miller through Nervous System Mastery was such a meaningful experience for me, both personally and in how I relate to others. I came in with a strong foundation in health and wellness, but this program helped me move from theory into true embodiment and practice. A big part of that was learning to really feel into my body and allow all emotions, which was surprisingly challenging at first. I quickly realized how disconnected I had been, and that awareness became such an important turning point. With NSM, I can now appreciate the different parts of myself and hold space to listen to what they’re telling me. Rather than judging my negative emotions, I welcome them, inviting them to reveal more about themselves. Practicing NSDR has also been incredibly helpful, allowing me to find rest during the day. Now, I’m more of an observer of all my feelings instead of judging them. NSM also introduced me to other areas such as Breathwork, Internal Family Systems and Somatic practices. This course and its container has helped me to deepen my capacity to listen to, be present with, belong & accept myself, others, and our greater ecology more fully and wholly. It has supported me in: 1. Fostering a growing capacity to be with myself within my own tendencies to avoid, collapse, dismiss, or shut down to my own emotional experiences, or outwardly project my emotions onto other people and circumstances- largely in part through the framing of this course as not something more to “fix” or “achieve”, but to stay present, curious, and allowing, and the Dojo practices *immensely* supporting me in deepening and heightening interroceptive explorations in relationship with self and others. The first dojo session was startling for me in the depth it led me into- it truly felt like it moved a Mountain within my awareness, simply in having a safe container to see and be seen with permission to feel and sense fully without shame. 2. I’ve noticed an increased tolerance for accepting the shame that often arises around feeling difficult emotions, and I’m more attuned to the tricky ways I’ll sometimes distract myself from feeling with things that “look” like “mindful” activities that are actually just busyness- even my art making and time on the mat. I’m more connected with how to listen and take responsibility for meeting my deepest needs and longings. 3. My capacity to BE WITH OTHERS and accept OTHERS in their own emotional discomfort, without judging, shaming, or attempting to correct, coach, or “fix” them- to simply ALLOW others to be who they are, and to see them in their wholeness, without taking responsibility for their internal experience or blaming myself for their feelings, has shifted dramatically. 4. I’ve even had multiple instances of being with others in the last few weeks where I was aware of how I could remain energetically open and receptive, while also being boundaried, and take full responsibility for my internal experiences of “cringe” without projecting the cringe onto the other person as “bad”. The shift feels subtle, yet profoundly liberating and encouraging. I’ve written so much more, but will leave it here for now :)

Since I teach some of this material myself, I wasn't sure how much I'd learn/grow, but I really felt compelled to join. It was a good instinct (yay, interoception). I loved how practical this course was. And I found the "if..then" algorithm + stacking, in particular, game-changing. Techniques that really don't do anything for me on their own, work well stacked. And I now don't have to remember to use them – my algorithm does that for me. Ocean: You are a master at running the show and making every student feel like they're the only one you're focused on. I feel less jumpy/edgy I give myself more time to do things/get places and I have better boundary setting; which all come with better knowing what I need to stay regulated. Nervous System Mastery taught me how to better understand and read my own inner state and body's messages (stressed tired hyped up?) and how to self-regulate with proven practices and protocols. It gives you more choice and agency over how you're feeling. Plus I really appreciated the live sessions as an opportunity to have an experience with the material and digest and process what we were learning (not getting new content as main focus). To me, this made it WAY better than other courses I've taken.

Though I feel badly that I wasn't able to attend the live events as I thought I could, I have definitely gained more insight, knowledge, and awareness about the/my nervous system...Last week I have an extremely stressful few events that occured and I was able to tuned into how I went into a dorsal state at night when trying to sleep. Instead of being able to rest, thoughts spun around my brain and my body buzzed with fear and anxiety about how I was going to deal with the current situation. I realized it was triggering a very old space in myself of childhood trauma. A replay of a sense of abandonment and anger was what I was feeling underneath the trigger of the present situation. It was good that I was able to recognize it and name it, though it didn't immediately calm me. But I was able to embrace all those conflicting feelings of the past and present and not spin out of control. That was a different experience. And a positive shift.
