Four-Direction Reset
A body-centered meditation to map and quickly access supportive emotional states.
Why it works
By anchoring positive emotions to specific body locations, you can rapidly access supportive emotional states during stress.
How to practice
- Connect with these directions and their associated state: - Feet: "Safe" (ground & home) - Crown: "Love" (connection) - Back: "Ease" (support) - Heart: "Gratitude" (appreciation)
- For each location: - Say its word silently - Allow any images to arise - Notice physical sensations
- Once established, cycle through all four: - Feet → Crown → Back → Heart - Spend 15-30 seconds at each point - Notice how states begin to layer and interact
Good to know
The key is allowing each state to arise organically rather than forcing it. Many find that starting with "Safe" at the feet creates a strong foundation for accessing other states. If one location feels particularly resonant, it's okay to stay there longer.
