The Three Cs framework (Catch, Curious, Choose) creates space between stimulus and response. By developing this pause, you gain the ability to respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically, breaking cycles of regret and improving relationships.

Practice first in low-stakes situations to build the habit. The "Catch" step is often the hardest—you can't interrupt what you don't notice. Physical sensations (tight chest, clenched jaw) are often the earliest signals of reactivity.
