Energy Audit
A weeklong journaling exercise to tune into your energy levels through daily tracking.
Why it works
Developing an awareness of your daily energy fluctuations enables you to identify optimal windows for deep work, recognize early warning signs of burnout, and make data-informed decisions about scheduling and recovery.
How to practice
- For one full week, set 3 daily check-in times (e.g., morning, afternoon, and evening) At each check-in, rate on a scale of 1-10 your: - Mental energy (clarity, focus) - Physical energy (vitality, body sensation) - Emotional energy (mood, resilience)
- Note key influencing factors: - Sleep quality - Recent meals/hydration - Movement/exercise - Social interactions - Work intensity
Good to know
Keep your logs simple—a quick note in your phone is sufficient. Some find it helpful to use a simple emoji system (⚡️🔋💤) in their calendar to track energy states. The real value will come from spotting patterns over time.
